Saguaro Lake in Arizona is the fourth reservoir on the Salt River formed by the Steward Mountain Dam. The lake is off of State Route 87 and halfway between Phoenix and Sunflower. This lake is also part of the Tonto National Forest. The Arizona Game and Fish Department stocks all of the SRP lakes. There generally are good supplies of walleye, large mouth bass, yellow bass, rainbow trout, brown trout, bluegills, channel catfish, and crappie in Saguaro. But this is an intensively fished reservoir, so expect steep competition from other anglers for the real whoppers.
With restaurants, hotels and groceries near by and fun activities like swimming, water skiing, and
boats to rent, Saguaro Lake is one of the most populated lakes in the middle west. But a word of warning, Lake Saguaro is so popular that from April to October, it gets very crowded on holidays and weekends. Local radio stations often have advisories on crowd conditions. Also know that Saguaro Lake reaches capacity early on these days, so if you want your chance to fish Lake Saguaro you will have to be an early bird.
Average Depth: 90ft.

Catch of the Day
Like Bartlett lots of fish in the 9-13inch range with the occasional fish over 2lbs. Dropshot mainlake points with Roboworms,(red crawler and salt river craw are working the best). Most of the better fish are coming off of steep walls, also lots of top water action all the way up the river. Use small top waters (poppers, sammy 65's, & flukes).
