Lake Mohave is a well sized reservoir formed by the Davis Dam. The lake lies at an elevation of 647 feet, about
67 miles downstream from Hoover Dam. The game fish species you will find here range from rainbow trout, largemouth bass, striped bass, crappie, sunfish, channel catfish and carp. Restaurants are around the area as well as groceries and a picnic area. Water skiing, boating, launching area and licenses for sale nearby make this a great day trip destination. Contact the National Park Service for up to date information about the lake.
The lake is around 75 feet deep and covers over 26 thousand acres of Mohave County, AZ. It flows right into Lake Havasu. Lake Mohave and adjacent lands forming its shoreline are part of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area administered by the U.S. National Park Service.
Lake Mohave was created with the building of Davis Dam on the Colorado River on the border between Arizona and Nevada. The lake is relatively "skinny" with its widest point being only about 4 miles wide. It is 67 miles long with over 200 miles of shoreline. Located just north of sister-cities of Laughlin, NV. and Bullhead City, AZ., most of its length is bordered by the steep canyon walls of Eldorado, Pyamid, and Black Canyons.
Largemouth and striped bass populations are quite good at the southern end of the lake. Striped bass hit best just above Davis Dam. Rainbow trout action is the most exciting at the lake's upper end particularly around the Willow Beach area on the Colorado River. Fishing licenses from either Arizona or Nevada are required.
