Scott Reservoir was built in 1928 as an irrigation lake on Porter Creek near the town quaint town of Pinetop-
Lakeside, AZ. It's the least developed of the lakes "in town". Surrounded by trees, the lake has a secluded and private feel. Just outside of the town limits is where you will find Scott Reservoir on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. A whole 80 acres with an average depth of 10 feet and it lies over 6,720 feet in elevation.
Usually somewhat turbid, which helps control algae blooms and aquatic weeds and stocked with catchable-sized rainbow trout in spring, early summer and fall. Occasionally stocked with channel catfish, sunfish and a few largemouth bass, the locals know you can catch big catfish at the lake during the fall. With boats to rent, camping allowed, and swimming for activities. Scott Reservoir is an ideal place to spend your outdoor time.
Fish for trout in spring and early summer using a boat or float tube at the upper end of the lake where fish tend to congregate. For stocked trout, try night crawlers or Power bait. For catfish in the summer, try chicken liver or water dogs. Catch larger catfish in the fall using water dogs. Bass fishing is slow to average at this lake.
Average Depth: 10ft.
Elevation: 6,720ft.
